Made an eggs-traordinary animal already? If you missed the activity in Pocket Money magazine, here’s how to make one:
1. Ask an adult to help you gently poke a hole in each end of an egg using a darning needle. Wiggle the needle around to make one of the holes bigger.
2. Blow gently through the smaller hole over a mixing bowl to blow out the egg. (Use the egg for a cake or to make scrambled egg!)
3. When the eggshell is empty, wipe it with a paper towel. Now it's ready for you to make one of the animals below.
Chirpy Chick
You'll need:
• yellow paint • orange felt • yellow tissue paper • a feather • some glue
1. Paint the egg yellow.
2. Cut a small triangle and two feet from orange felt.
3. Cut two yellow tissue paper wings.
4. Glue everything in place.
5. Poke a feather in the hole!
Baby Bunny
You'll need:
• blue paint • scraps of blue, pink, black and white paper • some glue
1. Paint the egg blue.
2. Cut out two ears and feet from blue paper.
3. Cut out a pink circle for the nose, two black circles for eyes and thin, white strips for whiskers.
4. Glue them all on.
Porky Pig
You'll need:
• pink paint • scraps of pink and black paper • a pink button • pink pipe cleaners • some glue
1. Paint the egg pink.
2. Cut out two ears from pink paper and two black circles for eyes.
3. Glue them down.
4. Glue on a pink button for the nose.
5. Bend pipe cleaners to make feet and a curly tail.
6. Glue them in place.
You can decorate your eggs-traordinary animal in any way you choose. You might want to colour it with pens, glitter or stickers. Be as creative as you like.
